Building Your Own Trellis and Raised Beds
Building your own trellis and raised beds is a quick and easy way to improve your garden's layout, promote plant growth, and get more from your space.
1. Gather Your Materials
Trellis:
Stakes or poles (6-8 feet), twine, zip ties, mallet.
Raised Bed:
Wooden boards, screws/nails, drill, fabric, soil, compost.
2. Build the Trellis
Place Stakes: Put stakes in the ground 4-6 feet apart.
Add Twine: Tie twine between the stakes for plant support.
3. Build the Raised Bed
Assemble Frame: Screw or nail wooden boards into a rectangle.
Prepare Ground: Clear the area and add fabric or cardboard to block weeds.
4. Position and Fill
Set Up: Secure the trellis and place the raised bed.
Fill Bed: Add soil and compost to the bed.
5. Plant and Enjoy!
Trellis: Tie climbing plants to the twine.
Raised Bed: Plant your favorite veggies or flowers.
