DIY Outdoor Games for Family Fun
Enjoying the outdoors with family can be even more fun with homemade games.
1. Homemade Cornhole
Materials: Plywood, 2” x 4” lumber, wood screws, paint, bean bags.
Cut plywood into 24” x 48” boards.
Build frames from lumber and attach the plywood.
Cut a 6” hole in each board.
Paint or stain the boards.
Set boards 27 feet apart and play!
2. DIY Giant Jenga
Materials: 2” x 4” lumber, saw, sandpaper, paint/stain (optional).
Cut lumber into 10.5” pieces.
Sand the edges smooth.
Stain or paint if desired.
Stack blocks in rows of three, alternating directions.
Take turns removing and stacking blocks.
3. DIY Ring Toss
Materials: Wooden base, wooden dowels, drill, paint/stain, rings.
Prepare and sand the wooden base.
Attach dowels to the base.
Paint or stain as desired.
Toss rings onto the dowels from a distance.
4. DIY Water Balloon Volleyball
Materials: Volleyball net or string, water balloons, bucket.
Set up the net across an open space.
Fill balloons with water and place in a bucket.
Split into teams and play by tossing balloons over the net.
5. DIY Obstacle Course
Materials: Cones, hula hoops, pool noodles.
Arrange obstacles in a fun layout.
Decide on the order and tasks.
Time each participant as they navigate the course.
Award the fastest time.
