How to Prune Plants for Better Growth

Pruning is key to healthy plants.

1. Remove Dead or Damaged Branches

  • Cut off any dead or broken branches to keep your plant healthy.

2. Thin Out Crowded Areas

  • Trim back small branches that are too close together for better airflow and sunlight.

3. Make Cuts at an Angle

  • Cut at a 45-degree angle above a bud or side branch to promote new growth.

4. Don’t Over-Prune

  • Avoid cutting more than 25-30% of the plant at once to prevent stress.

5. Know When to Prune

  • Learn if your plant blooms on old or new growth to prune at the right time.
