Making DIY Pet Toys and Accessories
Creating toys and accessories for your pets at home can be fun, easy, and inexpensive.
1. No-Sew Fleece Tug Toy
Materials:
Fleece fabric
Scissors
Steps:
Cut fleece into strips.
Tie a knot at one end.
Braid the strips.
Tie a knot at the other end.
Trim the ends and play!
2. Sock Catnip Toy
Materials:
Old sock
Catnip
Cotton balls or stuffing
String
Steps:
Fill the sock with catnip and stuffing.
Tie the sock tightly with string.
Trim the string.
Shake the sock to mix the catnip.
Give it to your cat!
3. Personalized Pet Bandana
Materials:
Fabric
Scissors
Fabric paint or markers
Steps:
Cut a square of fabric and fold into a triangle.
Decorate with paint or markers.
Let it dry.
Optionally sew the edges.
Tie it around your pet’s neck.
4. DIY Scratching Post
Materials:
Wooden post or cardboard tube
Sisal rope
Hot glue gun
Steps:
Attach the post to a base if needed.
Apply glue and wrap the rope tightly around the post.
Continue wrapping until covered.
Secure the end of the rope with glue.
Place it where your cat likes to scratch.
5. DIY Treat Dispenser
Materials:
Empty plastic bottle
Scissors
Dog treats or kibble
Steps:
Remove the label from the bottle and clean it.
Cut small holes around the bottle.
Fill the bottle with treats or kibble.
Seal the cap tightly.
Give it to your pet and watch them play!
